944 Turbo Convertible Conversion ??

944 Turbo Convertible Conversion ??
Has anyone ever heard of a company out of California that Customized 944 Coupes to Convertibles ?? I think the company may of been Presitge Porsche or Prestine ??? Not sure on the name..
I am looking at a 1987 944 Turbo that was made into a convertible. Looks like they used the sunroof for the rear trunk decklid and did not use the small vent windows that the factory 944 or 968 convertibles used? Kind of worried about the the strength of the winshield, though I am sure they had to beef up the pillars that supported the windshield???
Anyway some opinions would help ?? Thanks Davepnola I am listing a picture of the car ........

Well this is an option to otherwise searching for one of under 500 Turbo Cabs built....so I suppose you could go for this...
If I were you I would just get an S2 Cab...that car in the picture is not worth it IMO...it looks ugly and is just trying to rip off the Cab design, and does it poorly. I would be interested in seeing up close how good a job they did...that trunk looks ridiculous...
I've seen this car somewhere before, maybe someone else was looking at it...

IIRC, this car was on evilBay not too long ago. Terrible looking job -- I think. It might have made sense back in 1987, but now that the factory has done a proper convertible, I'd think you're better off looking for a well-made S2 cab instead of a poorly done Turbo cab.

Convertible conversion....
Well besides the top as the trunk I think S2 Convertibles windshields are on a more of a slant than the coupes. From this pics it looks like they did not lower the windsheild to a lower slope? I guess if you added a tail to the trunk , it might help the rear look........

Generally speaking, it is better to find an S2 cab turbo conversion than a 951 cab conversion.
Namely, because the factory cab chassis has 140 lbs worth of structural reinforcements.
The S2 cab turbo conversions out there with 250HP 951 engines are practically identical to the factory turbo cab, except for the VIN, of course.

Get an S2 and do the swap, there is a guy in Dallas that has done at least one, maybe more.

I would be seriously afraid to ever roll in that thing.
It was posted on here a while ago, and the consensus was don't buy it.
The job looks decently done, just done wrong.
