Default Late model offset rims on an early offset car...still confused

I have searched and found similar questions and read through responses for this that have been posted but even still the advice is a bit random at times and hard to decipher. I have a early 85/offset car with stock cookie cutters and despise them. Ideally I am looking for some 16" fuchs ($ and rare) or 17" factory wheels. Aftermarket is an option too but I typically like the factory wheels better than most aftermarket options. I found some wheels that are 7 and 8 inches wide with a ET55 & ET52 offset respectively. Is there a way to determine if these will fit reasonably well with spacers I presume? (I am looking to fill out the fenders and obviously run a lower profile tire/larger wheel than stock). I do not have my car nearby to do any measurements of the stock wheels/offset to really get an idea of what will fit either.

Just not a good idea to use the late offset wheels on early cars. Better tske the time to find the correct offset wheeks. 86 turbo phone dials or fuchs in 16" dia 7/8" width are a great choice.

https://www.willtheyfit.com/

late offset on early car will sit inset from the fenders unless they are really wide.

You just need a spacer to make up the offset difference when you go with late offset wheels - you need about an inch.

^^^ what Van said. Basically on your early offset car you can fit almost any Porsche wheel whether it’s early or late offset, you just need spacers to fit the later ones.

Ftw fit hub centric spacers with longer studs, the hub adapters that space the wheels out are a poor choice for two reasons. They add unsprung weight and they add an additional set of fasteners which are possible points of failure.
