When I accelerate the car hesitates, then when you lift it smooths out.
sometimes when your driving on the hi way it will loose power like it’s getting
no fuel but when you lift and gradually start to accelerate it will sooth out. Any ideas?

Very likely to be TPS. Try giving it a firm tap. That sometimes sorts it but best to replace with known working one to eliminate.

Also check for a plugged air filter. On the S2 they are tucked underneath the nose panel and many owners neglect to clean or change them. It may not be able to supply enough air at higher loads. I recall taking the air filter out of a ‘91 cabrio that had an air filter with a date code of 1990 stamped on it. And it looked like it had seen all 30 years...
