Default Bracket Question

Hey All,
I found this bracket on the intake manifold, described as "Air Manifold Support", that leads to nowhere. There is another small bracket on the same securing bolt that holds a wiring harness cable clip. Does anyone have a picture showing it's purpose? I'll try to get under the car and take a pic...Thanks.

So I looked from underneath - Does this bracket attach from the intake manifold to the motor mount support??? It kind-of looks like it but the original piece is pretty buggered up.

Looks to be the lower support for the intake manifold. Connects the top /rear drivers side motor mount bolt and to the intake manifold

That's what I thought but the spacing between the bracket and motor mount to over 1/2". Something doesn't look right...

Yes, that's where it goes. It may not be oriented correctly, or it may be bent up. If the latter, time to get a new one.

Actually, that's why I'm inquiring... The replacement came yesterday and doesn't quite fit (although I installed it anyway and torqued that sucker down).

It only fits one way but might need a little bend.

It grabs one of the motor mount bolts and supports the right side of the intake, so that that big lever isn't just dangling off the 8x bolts at the flange.

Frequently these are tossed because they are hard to get to and somewhat hard to put back.

On the 951 they made a bracket probably 15" long to support the far end of the manifold off the bottom rear of the block.

Here's the new one; it didn't fit perfectly but it'll work. Too much effort to replace the damn thing...

Just installed mine a couple days ago. Oval hole is for the intake. Other end on the motor mount arm.
