Default eccentric bolts, and wtf... i have arear sway bar.

i could have sworn my car did not have a rear sway bar. but i was just tryig to bust these eccentric bolts loose and i discovered i DO have one. AND its M030. my front sway bar was M030 as well. but i replaced it wiht a bigger turbo one. anyway whats with these ecentic bolts. they are TIIIIIGHT and not in a ghetto good kinda way. they do loosen to the left right? i was laying on the ground trying to push the ratchet with my foot and i still couldnt budge it.

if i get these loose. how do i know i will be able to tighten them back to spec again?
sheesh.

i managed to loosen them with alot of bust-a-bolt lube and an impact gun.after you loosen them they will just drop, make sure they're the same on both sides and tighten.itll make your car 3/4" lower in the rear.

Yes, they're standard thread pattern. Factory spec for the torque on those is 180 ft/lbs. You need good leverage on those things.

Hey whats this all about!!!??? What eccentric is this and exactly where and what is its purpose. I have been considering playing with the suspension on my car since I am tracking it when ever I can. I just bolted in an 968 adjustable rear bar on my car.

The eccentric bolt changes the rear ride height by as much as an inch. Not sure what it actually does to the suspension dynamics though.

I thought the M030 sways were 30mm up front? What turbo bar is bigger than that?

no, well at least this is what i thought. in PET for 86 the m030 bar is 23mm.
the option code if M 030/404.

for 87 and up it was 30mm i think. all i know is that that the bars that were on my car deffenitly were not supposed to be there. Damian said possebly the original owner ordered them special form the factory or added them on later. I dont really know. I upgraded to a 28mm bar though, and i like it.

I wanted to get a bigger rear bar but i thought i would ahve to buy all the mounting hardware. but last night i jsut found out i already have it. nice huh.

that would be a nice find. I'd bet you'd have a *bit* more understeer with a 28mm front and no rear sway

Cass944--do you know what else was in the '86 M030 package? I've got a 23mm front bar and a (If I remember correctly) 15mm rear, but the options sticker in the rear of the hatch only said 456--"Sport shock absorbers and stabilizers," nothing about an M0 package.

iloveporsches--How about some detail on this eccentric bolt? I can't tell if PO dropped my ride height or tired shocks are not doing their job. My 951 looks like she gave up on confident posture long, long ago.
