Whoa, those are thick!

The brakes for our FSAE are probably close in diameter. They are only as thick as ONE of those plates though.

I'm guessing you are using overkill-large inboard(s) in the back...but why? How would you be using anything close to that size in the front, though, still utilizing the standard 10" or 13" wheels??

Why do you want to use brakes like that?

Except for looking cool they should increasy your unsprung weight quite a lot..

Well actually the calipers are ligher than 993 TT calipers, these are 996 Monoblocks, so they are stronger and lighter than that calipers that they replaced.

The rotors, well i'm sure they add a little bit to the scales, but also fading these thing will be damn near impossible, I'll just have to be sure to keep the wheels as light as possible to offset any gains.

As for the specs

Calipers: 996 Monoblocks

Rotors: 345 x 35 mm

Nifty, how much lighter are they compared to the 993TT ones?

Ian, glad to see one of us finally got an answer as whether they would fit or not!

What are you using for an adapter?

Ian -

Once you get everything all set, please keep me in the loop on how well they funtion. I had a lead on the same brakes about 2 weeks ago, but didn't have the cash to make it happen.

After riding in my roomates Wilwood equipped WRX, I decided a brake upgrade will happen in the near future. It will be nice to be able to compare the BR's and Mono's.

... AFIK
