Perry, these are not going to be very cost effective. When the topic of big brakes came up I know Ian and I exchanged email about using the GT3 Yellows and the 996TTs. Since no one makes an adapter you are going to have to have them made and the rotors are going to require custom hats and some machine work.

In the end one also questions the need for such a large package. As much as I like the idea, to be honest the Big Reds are really overkill for the street and these are larger. The plus to them is that they are monobloc so there is no flex in the caliper itself. The feel should be tremendous.

Lets put it this way, the total cost will make a Big Red swap look cheap by comparison. That said they should look terrific and function even better (provided they dont try to lock up with a touch of the pedal) and they will certainly be unique.

As an aside I was at the dealer today and they had a set of those seats, they are REALLY REALLY nice.

Maybe I missed it, but what are these off of? A 996TT or GT2?

These are 996 TT Monoblock calipers
they are a 4 Piston system

GT3 = 6 Piston
GT2 = 8 Piston

Brian,

I'll keep you posted, I think the brakes will not show any huge improvement around now, but the first time I head up to VIR or Road Atlanta I expect them to perform with flying colors.....

Ian:
I have to say that I am disappointed. I am in shock, and frankly, I don't know what to do. I thought so highly of you, admired your willlingness to help everyone, admired your technical know-how, and now this?

How can this be? It's really hard for me to believe...
that....you....actually....drink Miller Beer!

Nice brakes, BTW!

dude, were you never a college student? 7bucks, 12 pack bottles/cold. I was looking for a buzz not a pat on the back for drinking beer you call worthwhile.

Z-Man you did open a can of worms.....

But I don't feel I have to defend the highlife, I save money on beer so I can buy more car parts, seems like a fair trade off to me.

And I'll agree with the Pepsi, but diet?

Coke!

I save a few bucks by making my own beer (up to 9.3 ABV so far!), unfortunately the saving so far have gone into more beer stuff...

Of course, back in the day, Bud was a buck a quart or $8-10/case!
