Arrow 951 Turbo Swap 4 Sale

These parts will get you 90% of what you will need to convert your N/A car to Turbo. A fuel pump and some wire splicing will get you up and running.
I am entering the second stage of my project and I need to get the current engine and associated parts out of the car and sold. Here is a list

1. 1986 turbo engine. 106,000 miles. (Belts, tensioners, WP, seals, lifters all changed 8000 miles ago) Comp is 130, 140 ,141, 138. Still running in car. Regular oil changes etc.
Engine runs very well.

2. K-26 turbo. Rebuilt by Turbo city 8000 miles ago

3. Intercooler + asso plumbing.

4. Engine wiring harness + DME KLR with APE chips.

5. Crossover pipe etc.

6. Bell housing.

7. Clutch changed by PO 4-5 years ago.

8. Injectors balanced and cleaned less than 5000 miles ago.

9. Tial Waste gate w/adaptors

$2500 OBO.

I can ship these items via freight, very cheap. Please include your Zip code.

I would like to sell all this as a package first. I will consider parting items 1 thru 7. I will not break the engine apart. Please email me if you want any of the 7 items. If you are close you can come and test drive before you buy. I live in the Allentown area in PA.

Thanks,

Default Changing spots on the leopard?

Obviously guys, you know there is so much more to a 944 turbo than a charger slapped in the engine compartment. In many ways(other than looks),the engineering of these cars is so different that they don't relate.Good luck with your project though.

Well, yes and no. If you did the swap (engine, wiring harness, gauge pod) into a post 85.5 N/A car, the chassis/engineering is the same as a 951. Change out the suspension, trans, and brakes, and you would be damn close.

Regards,

Jeremy

Default Turbo conversion

Wouldn't it be easier(and or cheaper) to just find a 944 Turbo. And don't get me wrong,I like a good project just as much as the next guy.Good luck and I'm sure it will be a kick-*** unit.

I'm wondering what exact differences are between early(pre 85.5) and late 944 tub that make a conversion more difficult on Early models. Not that i want to "turbo my NA" but recently saw a Salvage 968 with motor/trans/ everything go for $4600 at the auction. Considering what 911 crowd is doing to get more power out of their early models swapping a 951 motor/tranny isn't that big of a job. Overwhelming process for me though, can't even bleed my brakes right

Well......very interesting post's......but I am only try to sell these items NOT start a discussion on the reasons why or how someone else might want to use these parts.
I have chosen to fit an LT-1 into my car w/accel DFI.
I was going to rebuild the turbo motor, the right way, with a few upgrades. After pricing out what I felt would be needed to make an honest 400hp, my direction changed. I consider an LT-1 conversion much more fun and cost effective. Don't get me wrong i love turbo motors....I also love the challenge of a good conversion.
If you feel that this is not what "a purist" would do....thats fine....save your comments for someone who wants to argue.

So far I have $4500 into the project, Incl conversion kit.
Fully rebuilt LT-1, CC 07-305-8 cam, 1.6 RR, Forged pistons 11:1 comp
I think this set up, with a good DFI program, will net me 375-400 hp and loads of Tq. This will all be achived on 89 OCTANE.

Thanks for your interest.

Overboost.............. Welcome to the "Yea, I'm a bastard, but I'll blow your damn doors off" Club!! Good luck with the conversion. Let me know if you have any ??? I'm assuming you're using the Renegade kit. I just received my new design hedders yesterday. May start on installing them this week sometime. The shorty style they offer will probably limit you to 300 to 350 hp thru the mufflers. I'm running an LT-4 and with the shorty hedders, thru the mufflers, it produces 370 hp. I'm hoping the new design, along with an improved exhauts system, I'll see 400 hp. Be ready for some narrowminded, but, probably good natured ribbing from the purists (read " I ain't ever road in a converted 944, but know I don't likit" group. Theres nothing like the satisfaction on seeing the face of some back-motored, "I got more money that skill" drivers when they stick up there noses at the "944 uh porsche?" car, then can't keep up. They won't even look over at you after you slow down. And, please slow down, rub it in.... deep!

The "Can-I-sleep-at-your-place-because-Patti-threw-me-out" Class, I believe. I may need to check the regs, though......

I want this thread to just disappear!!! This is like my dream project for my 924S, or i'd do a 968 turbo engine, either way really! I live really close to Allentown PA but i cant take on this type of project right now.

So someone hurry up and buy this stuff so i stop thinking about it
