Thanks for the reply, Damian.(Sorry for the mis-spelling of Porsche). I've looked at a bunch (10) of parts seller's links and Auto-Atlanta have been the cheapest so far. Evidently these cars are rare enough that not every one stocks the parts. The big guys (Pelican, Werks, etc...) don't have them, at least not on-line. One dealer, Stoddards, wanted $435 for a B-pillar inner gasket. Tweeks wants $299.00. Holy cow, Batman....they are proud of their parts! I sent an email to Sunset imports out in Oregon to see their prices. Hope they're lower. I can use the top in manual mode, but the weather sealing around the windows still needs to be tight. We get some real thunderstorms down here in MickeyWorld in the summer

eshane (and others)

You may want to check out German Auto Dismantlers (formerly PAP) in Georgia. The tops for 968 cabs and 944 cabs are interchangeable and so are the seals. GAD usually have at least one cab frame lying around.

I wouldn't get a used seal off a dismantled car becuase they most likely leak too. Get them new so you don't have to worry. Keep us posted on where you get the parts from becuase my S2 cab leaks at the top corners too. Luckily its in a garage but it would suck if I got caught in the rain while driving cuase mine leaks like someone is pouring water out of a cup.

So it it looks like you'll have to source from different stores to save some money, or would it be more cost effective t have them all shipped from one?

DAMN!! you're looking at ~$1376 just for seals?!?! i hope i got my math wrong. that's almost the cost of a new top install! and that is hoping you do the labor yourself.

It completely affects it. It simply doesn't do anything unless the key is in the proper position. It's a safety interlock. Same as the ones with sunroofs - unless the key is in position 1, you can't get the lifters to unlatch (to remove it)....because that would be a bad thing to do while you were moving.
