Default 951 with Boxter original 16" rims

Hi!

I´m thinking of buying 16" Boxter standard rims for my 951. Just now checking ET and stuff (does anyone know ET on those?)

Mine is a 951 -1990, do they fit?

Does anyone have a pic or two of a 944 with these rims on? I´m speaking of original 16" Boxter, those whose spokes are split near the edge of the rim...

Thankful as always!

Do a search on this topic. IIRC, the stock Boxster fronts (16x6?) won't clear your brake calipers. The 17x7 Boxster crabs will work, however.

They were the first wheels I upgraded to on my 951, and they looked pretty good, but you will need slight spacers in the front to clear those calipers. I can post pictures later when I get home if ya like.

Here ya go. I have a 1/4" spacer up front.

But I can't comment on the caliper-clearing issue...

I put 16" boxster wheels on my car and I needed 7mm spacers in the front since it was an 87, but I'm not sure if a 951 will need them. I actually had a problem with the wheel pressing against the grease cap.

The 951 will also need the spacers in the front to clear those calipers... I had the same rims on my 87 951

A spacer cut from thin (1/8" or 1/16") sheet steel will be enough to let the fronts sit flat on the rotors and clear the dust cap as well as the calipers. I keep a set around for just this purpose, although I no longer have a set of 16" Boxster rims at this time...these rims are usually cheap and come up for sale often and look great on a 944.
