Default Clutch pedal goes to the FLOOR

so, im on spring break tryin to knock out my next problem with the car... the clutch just goes all the way down to the floor and sticks there.... there is no pressure on it at all... it actualy feels as if hte pedal isnt connected to anything at all... also when i get to a certain point the assist spring just shoots it down to the floor and keeps it there, the only way to get it back is to pull it back up with my toe... any ideas of what it is?

thanks in advancce

Replace the master cyl. also, they should be the same age and both can be had for under $100. You'll be bleeding the system anyway.

And the blue hose.

A short one that runs off of the master cyl. fluid tank. While bleeding I also did SS brake lines.

You can cut a rubber hose for it at any local autoparts store. Just take your old one in match up the size it will cost you no more then a buck.

Clutch master, slave cylinder, plus Motive bleeder... a marriage made in Heaven. Whatever you do just make sure to replace both. If you get the Motive pressure bleeder (Paragon) you can charge it to 15psi and look for leaks. Only drawback is if it's the master, it will foul your carpet under the pedal pretty bad.

i found out that the master is still gofd but im gonna replace it anyways, i did get some hose from the autoparts store. its fuel hose but it doenst have like that braided outer part like the little blue hose did.. how much pressure is going on to this line? do you think that there is a chance that this rubber line will burst?

I found that the firewall that you bolt the master cylinder to is rotted out, so what would be the best way to go about welding a new panel in to mount the master cylnder to? would i even need to weld a panel in or just put some kind of bracket?? ANY ideas are welcome....

So the mastercylinder came off the firewall then? It rotted and came out. If so, that car is is pretty hurt shape man, weigh the cost to fix it and weigh the cost of a better car to start with. Yeah, you should be able to patch a pannle in for that. Just be sure it will hold the load.

yeah, when i got the car i didnt expect that it was gonna have this many problems.... i just thought the master/slave cylnders were bad and that i was going to have to replace them.... but when i went in to replace the master i found that it was pretty rotted... the top is still connected to it but it is kinda flopping, ive got a welder down in my basement its just i dont know the best way to approaching welding a panel in there. . . i am thinkin like 16gauge panel and welding one on the inside and trying to weld a piece on the outside but the wheel well is kinda in the way for the one in the engin compartment then drilling three holes in it.. one for the cylnder to go through and two for the bolts.
