Say bye bye to your power brakes too - www.renegadehybrids.com says you'll lose the brake booster and have to go to manual. He he he! Sounds like fun!!!

One question...All of you that are asking "why, why, why", have any, and I mean any one of you ever ridden in a converted car? That one 10 second ride whould answer your question!

No, the rest of the existing car is too heavy for that wimpy S2 engine. You need that extra HP that you already have.......

You know for the price of doing a one of those GM V8 conversions you can buy a nice 928 which has a V8 that designed for a car instead of ruining the cars balance and handling. Putting a non-Porsche engine in a Engine is liek a slap in the face to Porsche and to me is just wrong.

Please sell me the S2, take the money buy blown engine 944 and help yourself. Like Tifo says. To me it makes sense to do this to a high mileage blown engine car but not a low mile S2 Cab.
bigbass, you know who MattH is? He must be on a long weekend or something!

He was recomending that he buy a 928 and you have the best of both worlds.
Everyone knows my feelings so I wont even mention them.
As to cost, depends on who you ask. I would set aside 10-12K to do it right, unless you can do ALL the work yourself.
You can ask the following about them:
Predator
dmsog
adie
Might be others but they have all done it and if you want to know the nuts and bolts they are the right people to ask. Just dont tell them I sent you, they might slam the door in your face :>)

Hey, guys< don't kick me out of the club yet!! I love the car as it is, but to be honest I just am nervous about maintenance and upkeep on the engine as the miles roll up. I'm not into track or motorcross. I think the body style is outstanding (won't trade for a 'Vette). I've v-8's all my life and never had a problem. Thanks for all the advice and sorry if I offended any of you. I just wish I could do all the work that many of you are able to do for yourselves.
I would love to jump the 0-60 to around 5 sec. Thought maybe that would be easier with a juiced V-8.

I don't care what anyone here says now, anyone here would LOVE to have a 944 with a well converted LT1.
And the top down you say?? I'd love the top down with a 350 hp LT1 singing away.
With that said, I'd only do this if my engine was kaput or the car was salvaged.
Gosh that would be fun.

BTW, stomping on manual brakes is friggin AWESOME. I take it you haven't driven many early 930s? Can you say manual? Can you say, FEEDBACK! Awesome. I'd take manual brakes in a heartbeat.
