Well if you lowered the redline to about what our cars have, you're only doing like 20

But reall though, they aren't all that. That have an ungodly lack of torque.

I'd love to see a new 944 concept come out of Stuttgart. 954? Anybody??

Supposed to be cheaper too than the cabrio PERFECT

I saw an elise a few weeks back. It's looks pretty sharp. But the fuel economy to performance ratio is what really does it for me.

Right you are Sam Grant. Porsche will not undercut existing models by producing a model that is quicker AND less expensive. It is sad, but new Porsches are not particularly good values.

What would be cool would be a front engine transaxle car that uses the porsche developed water-cooled V-6 used for the Toureg. That shouls give us specs like the Audi A4/A6s.

Another reason why a boxster turbo will never be produced. The performance of lower priced porsches cant be near that of the higher priced models. The regular boxster is already slow...anything slower wouldn't even be a porsche.

Why not? The 951 outperformed the 911 Carerra when it first came out and the 951S outperformed the 930 when it came out... I'm not saying it will be done again, but sometimes history repeats itself.

Ditto that - if it matched the performance of the Lotus Elise, I'd be down at Lynch Porsche tomorrow, deposit in hand. None of the new Porsches really excite me - I'm happier throwing money at my old ones.

Sports/GT cars today are too big and heavy. +1 for Colin Chapman and "just add lightness".
