Angry new name for thread, John needs help changing his clutch, any suggestions or help

I have finally began working on my car again, this new england winter is damn cold. i am trying to get the crossover pipe off, i have the 2 piece cross over. I got the wastegate section out, and the drivers side section un-bolted (aka broke the bolts off), how do i get the bolts off from the turbo.

TIA

-John

updated 4/8/04

i removed wastegate back, and downpipe back, exhaust flange on down pipe won't fit out because crossover is in the way. Is it supposed to be like that? Starter and heat shield removed, bolts out of speed and ref sensors, but they are still stuck in there. I am hoping to hurry up and fix this clutch because the nice weather is coming back(for now). If anyone has done this before, i am basically just looking for tricks of the trade. I am also thinking of doing the motor mounts, is this a good time to do it, while workking on clutch? I am starting to feel like i bit off more than i can chew. I know that with some guidance and help, i should be able to get this done in my garage, especially because i don't have the money to pay to have it done.

sorry to ramble on i'm just getting frustrated with this whole ordeal, thanks again.

-John

I've heard of people doing it with the intake on. But at a minimum, I think you would need to take the intake-manifold off. No need to remove the brake-boost heat-shield.

The two bolts on top of the flange are easy. Just stick an open-end wrench on the nut and use a rachet with swivel head to get to the bolts. The lower front bolt can be a pain, but you can get to it with an open-end wrench from below the turbo.

The last bolt in the lower back, you have to get with an open-end wrench from below. The nut is welded to the flange, so that makes it easier. Remove the O2-sensor first to give yourself some room.

With difficulty, but I did it. You do not have to take the intake off, but it helps. It's a pain, but it can be done.

I'm with Danno saying at the least I'd take off the intake manifold. I think when they say it's not necessary to take off the intake manifold with the two piece crossover, they mean in the future after it's on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.
Let me know if I can give you a hand with anything JJ, or if you need any tools.
