There is also a tracking to be built in the Alvin area of 288S and one in the Baytown Raceway complex. Gotta love options!

I'm going to have to get a track car after all. Anybody want to help me convince Becki that's a good idea?

that is so awesome that they are building a track like that. Too bad i won't be able to touch it, the initiation fee cost more than my car. I think the price is ridiculous.

I've been out to the MotorSport track in Ft Worth with Don Istook, and if you've got the money, its a nice way to go. They had a pretty cool set up as far as track side services go. I am guessing that this track will do pretty well.

Regards,

David - usually a club will work out some ungodly membership and then the members of that club only pay 150-300 per weekend. MSR is a pretty cool place. Since there is a very good PCA chapter in Houston I am sure they will be taking advantage of it. My only concern is that it might be the end of Texas World Speedway.

I doubt it. The SCCA doesn't race at MSR in Cresson. NASA does though. I imagine the cost of getting TWS is a bit less.

Furthermore, the track map I've seen of the new track west of Houston looks like it will be a crappy track for actual racing. Not too many straights of any length. Ideally a good race track will have some decent straights followed by some heavy braking for passing zones. MSR in Cresson is OK for this, but the W Houston track looks to be awful.

The Houston PCA has quite a bit of money invested in repaving the back section of TWS. I doubt they will move everything, but I'm pretty certain they'll give it a go.
