Default Lexan windows source questions.

Who would you recommend for a Lexan hatch and windshield? I would prefer a scratch resistant coating and it be trimmed to size.

track or road car?

I'd be worried about the local legal requirements of a lexan windshield for road use.

Here in NZ, its common to go fixed lexan side windows and hatch for any lexan windows on a track car BUT it means you have to have a motorsport club licence at the minimum and the car has to have a logbook. I can't remember if these mods have to be certified too. Too much work/upkeep for a roadcar here.

It'll be a street driven car. In my state, with my mechanic, I'm not concerned.

I used Five Star Bodies once, they offer a trimmed version. Get the 3/16” rather than the 1/8”, they will both flex somewhat but the 1/8” definitely needs supporting straps. Scratch resistant coatings are almost useless and they all haze over time just from the sunlight.

The best are made in Europe by a company called Plastics 4 Performance but shipping is a problem.

Yeah, 20" wheels just don't work. Porsches have gotten a lot bigger over the years. It's on 18*11 and 18*12s now with 295/30 and 315/30s. It has taken a lot of cutting and welding but the fenders are 2" wider per corner.

I was meaning you are going the whole hog, and why not! I remember your other threads now. Great work!

I used Plastics 4 Performance [[url]https://www.plastics4performance.com/] on my 993 quarters.. No complaints, and they have history..
