I bought mine from a dismantler. He rebuilt them before selling them to me.

I did it the cheap but effective way. There are DIYs out there. I bought new bearing and sleeves only. The toughest part was riveting the carriers back together.

+1000 for BlackSea. I decided to purchase a rebuilt 944 TT directly from BlackSea with 4 bearing support. They provide refurbished spline shaft to OEM specs, rebuild for racing application, and powder coated TT. You can send your core back for a rebate.

Good for a lifetime of racing

I would NOT want to do this job again without using the Black Sea kit. Just shell out the bucks and buy it, you will not regret it!

I would not want to do the refurbishment job ever, just have Black Sea do it. Same $$ as paying a repair shop but better quality control with BlackSea

Or... be a masochist like me and do it yourself! I performed this a few years ago and am getting ready to finally install the rebuilt TT in my car. And yes, I would periodically turn the driveshaft to maintain the new bearings. I modified SS pop rivets for the carriers and used SKF bearings as replacements.
