Power window failure
My power windows have stopped working completely. Nothing happens when I depress any of the switches on both the passenger and driver sides.
My car is an '83. I haven't been able to find much information on the electrical systems in the '83s. I noticed on the pelican website that there is a window motor relay for the 85 1/2 and later models, but nothing for the early 944.
Any ideas?

he said both switches wont work christian, so wwouldnt it be rare that one switch went bad?
I found that on my car while i was working on door latches the other day, that i had to have both switches plugged in at the same time(both passenger and driver passenger window switch, for my passenger window to go up and down. not sure if this is true with all of them.. but thats what mine does. i find it odd. but perhaps one of your plugs came out of the back of the window switch

I had the same problem on my 924S. Take the window switch off of the door panel. pry the switch apart. Take fine grit sandpaper and clean the contacts. Put it back together and it should work. Easier than removing the door panel.

Well, I just tried cleaning all of the switches; and it's still a no go. I guess I'll pull the panelling off tommorow at some point to see if I can pinpoint the problem.

On my '83, both motors were trashed, had to replace them both, the first week I had her! I strongly suspect moisture was the problem, due to the fact we had to clean out one of the drains that was dumping water inside when it rained.

Check for voltage at the plug for the switch. One of the wires should have 12 volts with the key on. If not then it's the fuse.
The drivers side feeds current to the passenger side switch. That's those bent spring contacts on the ends.
