Got a local friend with a pair of nice 997 seats I can pick up for about $400.
My driver's seat is pretty trashed.
Anyone done this swap? I've seen a bit about 996 seats... modifications to the rails, etc. Don't know if 997 seats are the same though.

it's been done in a few 928s which have the same rails and mounts as your 924. It's similar to the 996 seats. A little modding and you can bolt them in.

Check out the hole spacing. If the holes all line up and take the 8mm bolt then it should be a no-sweat deal. If your 924 has the early seats, then you will have a headache on your hands. I've been through this on my early 944 and I will forward pics as to how I solved the problems. No time right now, sorry..

Non full power seats sre much easier then full power/memory seats. I just finished the passenger seat (only power required). The drivers seat (full power/heated/memory) is almost done. I hard wired the seat switches. I just got the resistors yesterday that I need to rewire the lumbar controls.
I had to make some simple extension brackets for the rear mounting points, along with minor clearancing on the seat rails.
