Hi there all-
I've been chasing down how to get more comfortable driving in my '91 S2 and have found that the seat adjustment for the rear of the seat is not working. I haven't yet determined if it's the switch or the motor but I'm pretty sure that I'll need to take the seat out for analysis and fixing.
I've found this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-up-fixed.html, and watched the video that's included at the end of the thread. Neither the car in the thread or the video appears to have airbags, which mine does.
My assumption is that I need to disconnect the battery prior to doing this work to avoid any issues with the airbag. Is that correct? Will it be obvious once I get down there what needs to be done to disconnect any airbag sensors? I'll keep googling for how to do it but thought I'd throw this out to the forum for any experience with the issue. The rule of thumb I've got in my head is to disconnect the battery for a minimum of 20 minutes prior to doing any work on airbag related systems. Is there any reason for this number to increase with the age of the car? These (nearly) 30 year old airbag systems scare me a little bit, to be honest, but at least they're not Takata sourced.
Thanks all,
Glenn

The seats on a 944 have nothing to do with the airbags. You can remove and replace the seats without any concern about the airbags.
On a 91 944S2, you will need the Bosch Hammer to reset the airbag light, if you happen to have a fault. (The Clarks Garage technique only works pre 1991).
On a 91 944S2, you will need the Bosch Hammer to reset the airbag light, if you happen to have a fault. (The Clarks Garage technique only works pre 1991).
