REaaaaallly? I did not know that. If we have an oil air seperator, why does everyone always talk about building aluminum oil-air seperators? Now I am interested as to this....

My $.02.

What do these cars hold? 4-5 quarts? $5 a quart? Doesn't seam to be that hard of a decision.

I replace the washer with every oil change.

The stock oil/air separator does not do a good job keeping oil out of the intake, so the secondary catch can is installed.

Every oil filter I have ever purchased for my Porsche or bmw have always had the "crush ring seal" taped to the top of the box. The seal is a crush ring to be used only once.

Zims Autotechnik
The price of the crush ring maybe incorporated into the filter price. All I know is the underside of my car is nice and dry and clean and that's the way I like it

I guess I cheap out on oil filters.. I usually purchase 6 at a time- works out to 3-4 bucks a piece. add 10 washers for 10 bucks. - I hope I'm ahaed.
