Sorry to hear.. I feel for you.
First things first, contact your insurance company. DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR UNTIL THEY COME OUT TO SEE IT. Work with them on a settlement or a salvage buy back.
If you decide it is not too bad, and you want to repair it, contact Granny (put up a post of what you need). Granny most likely has what you need.
A word to the wise.. take your time on a fire rebuild. Replace or refurbish anything you think might have been affected by the heat... or the electrical shorts that most likely happened. If you repair it half assed.. it's gonna be nothing but trouble.
Good luck

Man, that's rough.
Somebody here should be parting out a car and can help you.
I'm afraid of mine catching fire... I have leaky fuel lines.
Hope you get it fixed up again.

NOw I recomend everyone keeping a fire extinguisher now ; if not one of those fancy race car systems with remote outlets for the extinguisher (along with my full toolbox in the rear) lol

Check the timing belt! I bought an 86 automatic that had an engine fire much like yours and the timing belt was stuck to one of the pulleys from the heat of the fire.

Well good new and bad news mostly good though
just the small vaccum lilnes are shot the auxillary air valve is crispy but think it will still work ; most wires are still good (goin to run ground checks on all of them though) The injector wires are toasted and cruise control (opting to delete that now lol) i'll replace plug wires fuel lines injector wires and one injector (ones extracrispy) The culprit seems to be fuel rail bolts coming out and ; speculation until i test it all i'll get pics up later

i apologize (since i was already asked)Richlands virgina ; southwest virginia
i'll check the timing belt but the fire was mainly toward the rear of the engine around the fuel line connection to the fuel rail

Oh, also if you need some help finding some things or any help on parts, you might call Mark Finley at Rezoom in Blountville. 423-323-3092 and tell him I mentioned him to you. He races a 951 in PCA events and works on all kinds of cars and has lots of contacts here locally.

ours caught on fire and the fireman said the best thing is a water hose up under it with the hood closed because the steam will create a shower (steam shower) and put it out... he also said that this was better than the fire extinguisher...
