Brian - I have Phil from Stuttgart coming to help us with the car on Saturday, he is a good guy and a damn good tech. Seriously a stock DV wouldnt last the afternoon before the diaphram tore :>)

My guess is that this car has the standard chip upgrade and the boost turned up, either it has a bad WG or CV or a leak going to the WG (allowing the 20psi on the guage). If that is the case it needs to be remedied before you blow it up.

Use paintshop and resize them or any photo program should be able to do that. Or you can email them to me at my office. mharrison@nospambfusa.com remove the no spam and put the words shu ishibashi in the message title.

it looks like the IC pipe and IM and one of the coolant lines were spray painted red. or it could be that it is all very dirty (or a crazy black red marble paint).

it appears to be totally stock, stock BOV, stock FPR, stock air flow sensor. if that car is really making 390 hp, i must know how=)

oh, and if your running stock chips, the car will cut out every time you reach full boost (at 20 psi that is). so it might have chips. if it were running well, which by the sounds of it it isn't (black smoke, and a gas smell i.e. running really rich), i would guestimate 240 hp at the crank. and yes going from a nonturbo to a turbo car is a world of difference.

I know (about the DV), I was just giving you a hard time. Hell, you know I don't run with a stock unit myself!

Looks like Mike has himself a bit of a project. The apparent spray-paint job on the intake and IC tubes doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Sorry Mike.

Damn, first Jason beats me to the AFM comment, then Kevin beats me to the "custom" intake paint! I'm going back to work...

Kevin - very well summed up. Does have aftermarket exhaust though or at least a huge tip.

To be honest I think the red paint is actually Powder Coat and I am having some of the same parts done myself! So no nasty comments! Nose panel appear to be about the same as Awoir's, doesnt it.

hey man i bought like that, what mattered to me was that the engine was just rebuilt less than 20k on it, and the clutch is new also, and springs , struts, whole bunch of things, many receipts. and the cat run like a beast, i already own a mint 944, its the yellow one next to it, i just felt like this one with nicer paint( black) and 18 inch wheels that i already bought will look better, and certainly much faster, and iam a sucker for speed
by the way pictures sent, thanks for posting them for me

middle. the engine is very quiet , and suprisinly, the car is not even loud, it
sounds like a motor cycle. iam going to the dyno next week, but i was just
getting curiuos, YOU KNOW
well thanks for all your help

When they get here I will post them. The server here can be very slow. BTW - I dont think anyone is critizing, just pointing out observations. I can say there is no way this car is making 390HP. I would guess that with the right set of chips it might be making 280 (at 18 psi, again 20 would do you no good unless it had brand new Guru 20 psi chips and I dont know if he has shipped them yet). Either way compared to a NA it is going to feel like a rocket.

BTW - is the Yellow one an original Summer Yellow car?

Out of curiosity sake how do you recommend he do that? No mention of a boost controller if you know what I mean.

Mike-

I promise you that it would do you a TON of good to spend a day or five scanning the Rennlist archives by doing searches for things like "MAF", "boost controller", "wastegate", "DME", "turbine", "air fuel ratio", "suspension", "timing belt" and "Detonation". Then, if you start getting curious about something in particular, run another search.

Good luck with the car, nice color! I'd bet that the gaps by the headlights are due to the header panel (thing with two vents between headlights) getting installed incorrectly when the vents were put in. Probably easily fixable. You have found the right place online, don't be offended if some people came off kind of harsh, we just don't want to see you blow up your engine! And get the car checked out by somebody who knows 944 turbos ASAP, seriously.

BTW, to resize pics:
1. open Paint (its in the accesories folder in the program folder)
2. open your picture
3. go to image -> stretch/skew
4. type the same value (under 100) for both horizontal and vertical
5. hit OK and save
