Default there is no ground

Where does the instrument cluster ground? I can follow the brown wires from the clusters into the harness then??? I've looked and looked for the supposed one up under the dash, I don't think there is one. I'm about ready to go in there and add one. '87 924s

If it's a 924S, like all 924s and early 944s, shouldn't each gauge pod have a ground wire? I know mine do.

yes, there are brown wires coming off the pods going into the harness, I keep seeing reference to cleaning the ground up under the dash but it's vague, maybe it's for later 944s, I don't know were these wires go as the wiring diagram seems really hard to decipher for me. I did a gauge lighting upgrade with LEDs and they looked great, then one started to flicker, then another, now most flicker and gauge readings are a little flaky and blinkers work sporadically so I'm chasing grounds

Above the fuse block, waayyy up there is a "crown" with multiple grounds running to it. I've never seen mine from below the dash. Only on a junk yard car with tore up dash.
