Wow! I wish I had the funds, but transmissions on two cars are eating me alive right now, grrr!

But thank you for being so thoughtful about us, that's really a few great deals going on!

Just for Curiosity's sake, how much does each respective Roll bar or Cage weigh?

Wow, I did not realize the merchant was a long standing Rennlist member.

Dan, my first impression is that the prices are high compared to AutoPower products, but I would like to hear why your roll bars are worth the cost difference.

Next there are many of us Cab owners who are sitting on the fence hoping someone will manufacture a easily installable (and removeable) roll bar for our Cabs that will not require cutting any of the trim to install. There are existing hard points for seat belt mounts in the back and I have some ideas on how to design them if you are interested in capturing the Cab market.

Talk to das sport about making new products, im just selling them

redline may also have something for you, he had a bolt in bar for the coupes that used seatbelt points.

prices may me high compared to autopower but its a matter of getting what you pay for. the das sport product is NICE. the not to me named supplier that i get autopower & safety devices from will always direct me away from autopower for any given customer... that kinda says something (you will all likely figure out who that supplier is and they know what they are talking about)

eyal- sorry i never answered you, not sure total weight, when i picked it up it was on a very heavy pallet, i can ask though

I went to the Das Sport website, they don't appear to offer 'weekender' bars for the 944/968's....only full bars that need to be welded in.

IS this the case ?

What do you all think of Redline's bolt in bars ? They look more stout than the Autopower bars.

How do bars like Redline's attach to the floor ? Do the bars just sit on the carpet ?

Do OEM seats get worn quickly when using a roll bar with harnesses ? I would imagine the shoulder straps HAVE to rub constantly against the sides of the seat.

I bought and installed a Redline bar this weekend. It is very stout. The horzontal uppers bolt to the upper 3pt seatbelt mounts, and the lower verticles bolt to the outer lower seatbelt mount. So they go to the seat lowers, but not all the way to the floor.

If you are looking for a hoop for DE's and AutoX events to attach your harnesses to, it is a great way to go. It's not appropriate for any door-to-door racing applications though.

Not hijacking the thread, just trying to answer your specific questions about the Redline unit.

HTH,

Jeremy

The groupbuy price never happened because of a lack of comfirmed orders.

The redline question was answered, sorry i didnt read this thread sooner for you. i usedto run one myself and it is a nice piece... i recently switched to a dassport cage, also a nice product.
