Not sure if I would put one on, but the best one I ever saw was in R/T many years ago.
It was on a 911 Turbo, written backwards, like on an ambulance, and said...
' slower traffic keep right'

Personally this is a non issue for me. Be it rice or otherwise it is your car to dress anyway you like. It all depends on what attracted you to your Porsche car. For me it was about classic design, legendary engineering and world class. I would not dress mine in anyway which would detract from the factory polished class emphasis. But I could see putting up a dark tinted tape across the top windshield to cut down on sun.

I just bought a simple black windshield decal from GT-racing. No writing, just 5" of solid black vinyl.
Why? The installation of my rollcage required removal of the sun visors . . and I really need something to help block the sun, but I don't want to be super flashy about it. 100% functional and dearly needed = not rice
Now putting the same thing on a car that still has sun visors just for looks . . . well they may be teetering on rice. Tacky as Damian put it. More so if it has any writing on it at all. IMO

My taste in cars is this: no stickers. I don't like superfluous stickers, even if tastefully done. I despise pinstripes. I furiously remove the dealer's vinyl writing from every car I've ever owned. I like my cars clean. The only place I would ever allow writing on is the license frame.
Don't do it! Don't do it!

I agree with the other, if you like it be damned what anyone thinks.
But, you did ask for an opinion. I don't like'em. It screems "Look at me, I'm driving a --insert car name--"
Everytime I see a car with a "Pontiac" or "Chevy" banner (most common around here) I think "No sh*t, I had no idea that was a chevy" those who don't know a car by looking at it, probably don't care anyway.
