Default Looking for Military Aviation pilots...

I am in the process of switching my Branch...What I need from anyone here that has takent he flight test is more information on the test, more study questions, etc....anything to give me the chance to pass the test....

I took the pretest and got 80% and I need a 90%....I want to go in making sure I know that I'm going to pass....they are pulling alot of strings to do this for me and I need whatever I can get to get the edge on making this happen...

So if anyone has anything that would help, books, website, etc... i appreciate it...

Thanks,

Are you referring to the BAT test? As in, with relation to a PCSM score? I'm in phase III of UPT in the USAF, but am not sure as to what test you're referring. There are a few more active duty pilots running around on here - Joel Wahlsten in particular.

Are you looking for a slot in the AF? As far as the AFOQT goes, I had a friend who studied with one of the Arco books and did well. I did not know there was a separate "Military Flight Aptitude Test" - although I have heard the pilot composite portion of the AFOQT referred to as this.

I can recommend this site (again, really AF specific):

http://www.baseops.net/archive/archiveupt.html

In my case, most of the basis for getting a slot was a UCR (Unit Commander's Ranking) as well as a PCSM (Pilot Candidate Selection Method) score. A big part of your PCSM score was the BAT (Basic Aptitude Test). The pilot composite of the AFOQT mentioned above played a role as well, but not a very big one IIRC.

Anyway, HTH. I'll talk to some of my buds who came in through other "channels" and see if they can offer any other suggestions.

Mark,

Yeah - finally bought a computer after phase II of UPT and decided to get the internet as well. Been laying low online for the past couple of days trying to see what's new with the boards

Good to see you folks again!

Mike,

Still wishing I hadn't sold it

What a car. I will own another 83 - nothing like cookie cutters and manual steering Someone in Elkhart IN was selling a Kalahari (read: Platinum) on brown 951 and Leslie had to pull both the ad and the phone out of my hands

Man I miss that color combo.

Micah, Is that the logo for the F-4 Phantom II? I rarely see that picture. The last time I saw it was on my Fathers plaque from Red Flag.

Sorry.....I got in the door with knockout scores on the AFOQT and everything in between and got selected for Navigator (eyes not quite good enough for the front seat). Never studied a lick for it. Unfortunately not long into training my left ear gave up and has quit equalizing and they couldn't figure out why, so now I'm back here in civvie world chasing filmmaking/computer graphics/writing.

Those kinds of tests are just a breeze for me for some reason. Of course, 20,000 hours of computer simulation flying I hope helped somewhat growing up :-) Falcon, Gunship, and FS4/5 and 98.

I was in class 98/06 for OTS, Goldhawks!!

Best of luck getting in! Wish I was still in in a lotta ways. Love ta fly.
