944 front shocks
I need new front shocks for my 85 944 and have narrowed it down to either Sachs 031050 or 115153 and I don't know which to choose, the 031050 are about $40 on rockauto and the 115153 are about $75 on rockauto as well. I am going to be using my car as mostly a daily driver but might do some autocross events so the stiffer the better. if there are any better options, tell me, although I would want to spend max $80 per shock on them.

Make sure to look at your struts and know which ones you have, there are a few options. Sealed, rebuildable, plus the 951 units. I looked around and a few places told me I should have rebuildable ones. I bought inserts like FHM posted and then found out they would not work for my shocks as mine were non rebuildable and needed the special conversion inserts as well as cutting and drilling my strut bodies. Just making sure you have looked at yours physically and verified what you currently have in the car as people swap things around quite a bit over time..

Ok, thanks, the person i got it from was the original owner and did nothing to the car, just neglected a few areas, so that is what i am trying to fix, so i would assume most stuff is stock, ill check again though.

What's wrong with KYBs?
I have KYBs front and rear.
And the rears are 18 years old at this point. Still doing their oscillation-damping thing.
Maybe just a bad pair? Or maybe they were better made 20 years ago?
They haven't gone up in price! Taking inflation into account , they have actually dropped in price.
