The D90's are looking good too. The Club Sport version is going to be more than I feel like spending on this project.

Quick question..... How do I get to the dash bulbs?

Car is tight but feel like it could use tie rods, which brand or supplier do you recommend?

My 1985.1 Vin decodes as having been optioned with 401, 15-inch forged alloy wheels. On the car are staggered, 7" front and 8" rear, Fuchs. Are these the correct "forged alloy" optional wheels? Sorry for the blurry photo.

Yes, code 401 was the optional forged Fuchs 7/8x15 in 1985.1. Your car has a great look btw, I can see the rear side light so it’s a US spec car correct? I like the Euro front valance without the fogs and the Euro bumper combined with a 931 header give it a unique look. I don’t think the CGT hood scoop adds anything but it doesn’t look too bad either, I’d just prefer it without but that’s imo. Nice car!

And that is the exact size on mine. Makes me wonder now if they are in fact 7" in front and 8" in back??? I will now have to measure them. I would think if 8" in back the tires would be a wider size?

Yours are 8in at the rear, I can clearly see the difference between the front & rear in the photos you posted. You can fit wider tires on the front and rear if you want, either the same size or staggered. In the past I fitted 225/45-15 on front 15/7 wheels and 245/40 on rear 15/8 wheels. You have options but most people stick with the stock size.

Do you have a link to it? On the Pirelli website, they just list 15's.

86 Turbo is early offset as well.

Correct, however the point I was making in my statement was that 16in 911 Fuchs won’t fit an 86 turbo, which they won’t.

Why won’t that fit? Just asking... since the offset is early and the are 16”? Is the backspacing the issue?

They won’t clear the 951 Brembo calipers. Early 911 folk seek out the 944 Turbo Fuchs for their cars so they can fit bigger brakes.

The * in the chart below are 911 front 16in 7x23 Fuchs which won’t clear 951 Brembo calipers. The 16in 7x23 Fuchs whose number starts “951” has more clearance on the inside to clear the Brembo calipers fitted to the 944 Turbo.
