Default Anyone know what this is?

It's from a 968CS- the site I got it from was all Japanese, so I couldn't read the writing underneath- I'm pretty sure it was add-on, but... anyone?

Here is a link to the actual page- there are lot's of pics w/headings for each one- if someone here can read it, please let me know- the reason I didn't include it before is b/c when I saved the pic, it did not include the text- it took me awhile to find it all again b/c I came across it by chance- I had to go through my history folder which was a HUGE list for the last few days as I've been looking for a way to build some sort of rear seat replacement cubby like the 911CS- I found the parts for the 968 cab & 968CS in the PET files, but, they don't show it very well- all the part #'s, yes, but, it's doubtful that I could find them in the US & even if I could, they would be very expensive- I'd like to try to make something similar, but, cheaper AND lighter- if anyone knows of any types of panel I could use, or any ideas as to design, please let me know- I'm hoping I could find a sheet of finished carbon fibre OR hard plastic- any input???

Thanks

Cool website! Anyways, my Japanese is a bit rusty, but it says something about the rear hatch lever being moved to the tire housing. The picture next to it says, coupes and cab (presumably in reference to non-CS versions) have electric rear hatch openers with a switch next to the hood opener.

cool- that makes sense...thanks a lot... I didn't see that the pic beside it had any relation to it- funny though- I'm now either getting a sense of deja vu or this came up YEARS ago- I really think I've seen it before & either asked that question OR someone else did- I may be wrong...

One thing though- was the 968CS rear hatch non-electric? The 944 Turbos, etc, from '87 up (I think) are electric- mine's a Turbo S & is definately electric- this has come up a few times recently- I got locked out of my car & found this out- I'm about to post another thread relating to that, but, IF the car is non-electric, like earlier 944's, would there be a hatch release still? I'm assuming yes, but, just activated a different way. I'd like mine to be manual after getting locked out, personally....

Anyway, thanks again...

Rough translation:

"The rear hatch opener of 968CS in wire system modification (light
weight conversion) is a lever in the tire house of the driver's seat
rear section."

Apparently the electric components were removed and replaced with a pull wire/cable system.

I'd rather have that system, based on my recent lock-out situation, especially if it saves a little weight, although I doubt it would be more than 2 or 3lbs total....
