Default What Drive the Idle Air Control Valve?

I have a rough idle when cold. It goes away when the car warms up. Not that it is a fix, but closing off the line to the idle air control valve fixes the rough cold start. What controls the IACV? Is it the DME temperature sensor?

Thanks

It's controlled directly by the DME. If blocking it off fixes the problem, then it's probably leaking.

the idle air control valve is controlled by the engine temperature sensor which is adjacent at the front of the head.
It allows increased air flow for a few seconds when the engine is cold to bypass the throttle butterfly which is closed when starting .

It could be just a sticky solenoid valve in the IAC or it could be a bad electrical connection. Test that you have voltage on the connector first but if you need to remove the valve you can do it without removing the inlet manifold
