Default Got parts on.. Thanks Wade and Andy!

Well the freezing weather has taken it's tol on the old 924s...
Days of 17 degrees and nights of well below zero have managed to shear a few bolts. I went out of the way to make sure all of the 8.8 hardened bolts I had were Rockwell 52 hardened, but nontheless have sheared quite a few.
The PS mount point has sheared with the stud in the aluminum bracket. The AC bolt (from the AC bracket to the uppermost mount) sheared in the AC compressor..

First of all- is there a better hardness bolt to use? The R52's seem to shear clean in the sub-zero temps. I thought I had considered this when I sent all my hardware out to be annealed/ hardened.

Second of all- is there anyone with a HEATED garage in the Cinci/ Dayton/ Columbus area that I my be able to use for a day or so? I cant wait until March for this one. I'm dead in the water and chewing up AC belts.

Third of all.. I can't wait until I get an AC delete bracket..

It seems it was so cold I split the forged bracket between the motor mount and the engine mount point. I have new (OK, used..) ones on order but the aluminum sheared due to engine heat and ambient temp., (I figure it was -17 outside. at 30 MPH ant engine temp of 250.. go figure.

I thought Chicago was cold.. at least they know how to get rid of the snow.

j/k.

Crybaby.. yep. I Sure am. YOU spend 4 hours on frozen snow and ice on your back while it's raining. I double dog dare you. Next time you get out here I'm gonna triple dog dare you to stick your tongue to a fender.

All the parts are in or on order, and I'll be installing them outside in the snow/ rain. Maybe I'll just do brakes on the Buick as well..

Thank's to Wade and his "Palacial Garage" Got the front end/ engine stuff off, on and back together and running yesterday.

Now it looks as though the LR CV is going as well.... it started clacking last night on the way home from Wade's.. I hope it's weather related.

Andy- I'll call you- I may have to sort through your "parts store"!

Brakes on the Buick are this weekend. You gonna be around Wade?? You sounded a bit pensive.... If the weather holds out I'll do the brakes on the Buick in the driveway. If not you may get a call...

The new rear brakes are a nice addition. Now I'm looking at replacing a rear CV.. or 2.. It's a damn good thing I love this car. I do regret flipping my car off in your driveway on Sat.
