Default portable compressor - cigarette plug issue

Has anyone split the cigarette lighter plug to resolve an intermittent connection issue? I have intermittent continuity on positive post and need to disassemble plug. It looks like I will have to drill out rivet holding the halves together. The question behind the question is how to reassemble the halves?

Is this the original Porsche supplied air compressor or an aftermarket item ?

You do realize this is a European style plug hole ( larger ) and needs a sleeve adapter over the end of the male portion to make the fit solidly tight ?

I ran into the same issue with using some radar detectors, specifically Escort brands. There is a male adapter sleeve which slides over the end to give it the right circumference so it doesn't wiggle free and was sent to me on request from Escort just for this issue..... perhaps this is what's needed and not a rebuild of the plug end ?

I just cut the cig plug off and put two "clamps" so I power my compressor off the battery posts. The wires are just long enough to reach the pass. rear wheel.

Yes, it is the factory supplied air compressor. Since it is the factory compressor, it has the B size plug to fit solidly in the car. I did do a LOT of drilling tonight and managed to get the plug apart. Found that the ground side of the connector was intermittent at best, none of the connections were soldered as delivered. Unfortunately, the drill walked a bit and took a bite out of the copper for the positive side connection. Will be looking for a new piece of copper to bend into a positive connection, solder things up and it will be good to go. Already tested motor itself, and it is fine.
