Hey Scott, sounds like we have some more 944's around here that we don't know about. We will have to have a get together soon.

to get into the threes I think you would need around 700-800 hp. and some drag compounds or even all wheel drive.

K-27.... I'm only .53 secs away from a 3.99. The 4.52 was run on year old 255/45x17's, without abusing the car, on a cool pavement. I really think once I get the new hedders and exhaust on the car and the weather warms up, and perhaps fresh rubber on the rear, the high 3's are very possible! And there are 500hp F-bodies running the 1/4 in the tens!

Yea,Todd....we need to start the Mid Tenn 944 Club. I know a couple of places we colud meet. South Street, Logans, Long Horn, OutBack, or, how 'bout....your house!! HaHa. But really, If we could get the interest, we could meet somewhere, on a Saturday morning. Maybe a Waffel House, or Cracker Barrell. There's a new Cracker Barrell in Cool Springs, and I bet their Saturday morning breakfasts are not that crowded. Hey... the Tennessee Tubs are going to the Lane car museum on Feb 9th. They've got the place from 6-9 pm. We need to go. Hell, Mr. Lane might give us a place to meet!

Nice one, but as previously mentioned, anyone with a V8 can go fast, especially when most with a 4 have problems making it go at all MT quick times may be an answer for you especially if you have the room for maybe some 15's with slightly taller profile to allow for some more give in the sidewall. Also do you know how much weight you are packing, I'm trying to get the final package down to 2000 lbs, I'm aboult 100 lbs shy at the moment and I have to put new sheet aluminium in the trunk. Fiberglass bonnet is in the making but I cant decide how I'm going to fit it (hiddens pins or hinged ar both) and maybe framed doors with sheet covers instead of gutted doors may help, time is not kind however and have loads of other projects on the go, having to get rid of my new 944 as I am trying to play with space for a 911 project that I have been toying with for a few years. I'm sure I will be bashed for doing that one also but so far I have missed 2 going for less than $1000 in need of serious part finding but with good rolling chassis and basic components, ripe for a little tinkering.

That would make a person say WEE, whats the top speed? What did you do with the transmission? Is it the same from the engine back (torque tube back)?

My car weights 3300 lbs with me in it. We use stock 944 parts from the bell housing back, including an '86 951 tranny. I've seen 162 mph on my gps. Still had more to go, but no *****! I'm in the "If it don't go...chrome it!" club, too. Its my favorite quote to all my Harley buddies. My Valkery has never been bested by a HD...yet!

Just because the v8 has more potential doesn't mean you can say it's "easier" to make the v8 hybrid faster than the 4 cylinder. With the beautiful outcome of Predator's conversion, I would bet that he spent a lot more time and put a lot of effort into that project than most do. Hardly easy if ya ask me... then again maybe I'm wrong and his motor hopped in there on its own

Anyways, good job with the times, I'm sure with some better tracion you'll hit your mark
