Is there anyway to get our windshield washers to be heated like in newer cars? I think it would be a nice option for these very cold days.

Just mix some washer fluid with de-icing fluid, should work about the same. There should be enough heat coming off that side of the engine anyways to warm the mixture a little.

Both my 87 924S and 944S have heated washer nozzles. Look for the wires going into the nozzles from under the hood. They may activate with the rear window defroster.

I think my cab has a rear window defrost switch that just operates the nozzles and mirrors. Too bad my truck doesn't have these options. That's what gets used in the snow.

The early cars did not have heated washers.
If you compare the early and late washer nozzles you will notice the early nozzles are a "bump" style, and the later nozzles are more "aerodynamic" in shape.
A comparison of early and late hoods will reveal that the washer mounting holes are also shaped differently.
