Depending on condition and originality, it could be very high. I have a friend with an original '68 camaro convertible in show condition and it's worth what a 944 was when new. My first car was a '69 Mach I with a 429 SCJ; that's a lot of hp for a 16 year old, and I burned the first set of tires off the back in 3 weeks. I bought it in 1976 for $400 and it was painted 3 different colors of primer, but the interior was perfect. Being a poor high school kid I sanded it down myself and had it painted, and installed an 8-track. That car would be worth much more than my 951 today if properly restored. Of course the 8-track wouldn't be worth much

they usually bring 60,000 to 65,000. i think they made less of the 1970. and less of the acapulco blue car. mostly black and white. god i want my mach 1 back. mine was only a 351 windsor with a toploader and hurst indy shifter. hopefully the pic will work(first time)

With the heavy 429, mine ate ball joints for breakfast. Ate back tires too, til I figured out that they cost money!

BTW my second car was a 1971 Trans Am, I bet it would be worth a stack o' cash today too.

Should have given more info: Original paint, 38k miles, car looks like it just came off the showroom floor.
One of 800 or so '69 SOHC 429 Bosses!

actually good mach 1s bring 20,000 to 30,000 in good depending on options so tom r. is a good bit low on that. shelbys can be had for around the same amount as the 429 boss. bosses are more rare, but the 428 q code and r code were not far behind performance wise. and you can get one for around 25,000. but yes the lowest i saw a boss "9" advertised for was 54,000. for 69.

predator, what are they asking? as a rule of thumb, mostly original muscle cars went up about 20% over the last year or so.

At the end of speed channels coverage two unrestored factory dragsters with some sort of provenance were sold back to back. the first one went for around 28k ant the second one spiked. seem like the second car had been used by somoene to increase the value substantially.

I'd contact the shop from Dream Car Garage. From what you describe, the car is a survivor car and I should think it would be worth significantly more than the numbers being floated around her if this is true.

I miss my my '68 RS Z28. I sold it to buy a house in '89. Damn! (I sold it to a mustang guy who appreciated what the car was and how it should be treated.) I was fun to go cruising Stone Mountain. (When it was allowed.)

Hemmings will be the best source. The local Mustang club will be of help as well.

The car is currently not for sale, but perhaps in the future. The owner seemed to think cars worth was in the $70's range. Since a '70 HemiCuda sold for, I think, $184k at B-J, I thouight this car would be worth as much, maybe more! I was a beauty, and I'd pay $70 for it, no questions.

That's easily at least a $70k car. In very rough condition you still can't touch them for under $30k. Those are sweet cars. I wish my 69 Mustang had the 429 SOHC.

Originality isn't necessarily a benefit with the muscle cars, as BJ showed...restoration is not a problem, it's an asset, though this car sounds spectacular and should fall in a comparable category with other restored SCJ cars. I would assume with the rarity and condition that it should bring what many have suggested - btw 60-70k. BTW - comparisons with the SCJ and Hemi Cudas is totally off regardless of numbers, it would be like comparing a COPO Camaro (69 or so produced) with a Yenko (180 or so produced iirc)...even with fewer numbers, the COPO is less desireable than a Yenko (still boggles my mind why, but that's the market)...
