nope i wnat one for my 944 too and do away with the carpet. but the shifter would have to be changed to not look so clunky. theres too many bolts and edges above the level line.

Why would you want a gated shifter? They are a pain in the **** to shift, and they would probably slow you down on a track or elsewhere because you would have to concentrate on guiding the shift lever through the narrow gates. Looks cool, but has downsides also....
Besides, I always thought of it as a Ferrari/Lambo/Italian thing....dunno if it would look right in a Porsche.

So has Lambo and Ferrari been riced out for the past 50 years?
I dont think its ricey at all... but then again, i think it would look a little funny in our cars.

I'd be up for it if a nice one could be produced. Like Nabeel said, probably not a track novelty, but I'm not really a track person. The only downside is it may cause a little embarrassment when you don't get it all the way over and up in the gate and you grind. It would be different. I may have to go talk to a machinist friend of mine, see what scrap metal he has to work with.
Oh yeah, definitely not rice. I think they exist to keep you focused on the car...you have to actually put some effort into the shifting process, not just tap a button or glide it up at an angle into the next gear. Very nostalgic.

Gated shifters are soooo sexy. They do slow you down however... but might be well worth the price if the look as good as they do in some exotics IMO. Of course you would have to compliment it with a polished stainless shift ball and rod![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
