scary stuff but also agree. Change the headlight switch now before it catches fire. If switch is on and five minutes later the headlights go up then something is getting hot somewhere for five mins. I replaced 3 motors before on one car to no avail it was the switch.

turn lights up manually and unplug the connector at the light motor. Just leave them up and switch works fine for lights. At least u can drive in the dark til you have time to fix it right.

It's a battery cutoff or isolator switch. Any two-post model will do and you can buy it at any auto parts store. You can also get one at Harbor Freight.
