Default Free white dials

Hello guys, i made a scan of my dials for the 944 for those who have some import model with km per hour instead of miles.
You can take them for free at my homepage http://www.9xx-cars.com/index.php?op...ic&p=1853#1853
hope this will be usefull for at least some of you.

Please notice that in no case print them on paper due to moisture etc you will be dissapointed. Use a mate white plastic folio used in laser printers. You can also print with inkjet systems but then you will have to let the ink dry a whole night long.

here's how the cluster looks at night

Mais tu l'as imprime sur du papier ou quoi alors? Je dirai qu'ils vont se decolorer apres du temps, non? Qu'est-ce que tu as utilise?

thats exactly what I was thinking. If you have some with the speedo in MPH that would be great.

Hello, sorry it was night time here, time to sleep

Ok for the dial with MPH i understand that you need this but as i said the only way i found was to make a scan of my own dials and mine is import model from Germany.
Now i can't figure how to do for the same thing in MPH, at least i need a scan at 1:1 scale of original dial to manage with it. Or if someone in the US or Canada can do the same as i did, scanning them then applying a color negative reverse effect. Clean from all little particles of dust that you can't see with eye but that the scanner notices and you're done.

For the printing if you can do this with a laser printing it would be better as the ink is burned. The inkjet would certainely couldn't resist a long time due to exposure on daylight U.V. Anyway i did mine with inkjet, a poor's man solution but as it's not destructive for the original system if ever it starts to fade you can just throw it in trash or try to make it better with adapting your own solution

You can see all the lights including fasten seat belts through but you have to let the original dial or you will have white bulbs lighting instead of visual alarms.

Please take care that before you unmount the needles it's a good idea to take a picture of the instruments cluster, this way you can restore the needles at their exact position or you will get the same error i had, the needles were showing bad values.
You can even mark with a little tape the position of those needles on the plexi.

Remember that when you cut the dials, you have to let 2-3 mm around the black line if you don't the dial will be too short. As you see on my own cluster the black line is not visible so don't be afraid and do it

Last thing, you do this mod at your own risk, i made these dials free so please don't complain if something goes wrong, for me it worked ok.

Thanks alot Kraft! it's been so hard to find gauges for my car, none of the kits available here have the little L/100km gauge on the tachometer.
So if I print this on a normal sheet of paper-sized sheet of plastic they will be the same size as the ones in my car?
Merci encore! J'ai envie de les installer!

Yes no problem the picture on the screen may looks small but the printing definition inside of it is for a A4 format approximatively 8x11 inches, you can make a first run on simple ordinary paper and see how it fits.
The plastic sheet i bought cost 1 Euro so it should be available around 1 USD.
Remember to buy only non reflective nor glossy sheet of plastic it should be mat.

Friendan je suis ravi que cela te plaise, ça aura au moins fait un heureux

I'll look into it soon...and I will be sure to post pics when they are in!

Merci encore!
