i would run the snowblower backwards and shove snow into the blower chute. (note my all lower case to average out too many caps on this page.)
makes me think about posting a 944 tech question on some ariens forum.

My blower was a Schulte, 9 feet wide, attached to a John Deere 4630 (60 hp engine) so you'll have to take that advice with a grain of salt
But the real question that keeps me awake at night is whether my wife might bite off my head and lay eggs in my rotting carcass.
These are the questions that truly bother me.

Otto is right....shear pins are soft and are made to break. See if you can use a punch and hammer to drift it out of the hole in the shaft. Failing that, you may have to heat the shaft to make things expand enough to release. Try punching it out some more while it's hot. If all this fails, you'll have to drill it out. This may require an oversize shear pin if you go too large on the redrilling gig. OTOH, I presume that Otto married my ex-wife... I played dead..LOL!

I've replaced my shear pins with 1/4 bolts made of the finest chinesium. They still break before other stuff, but they're a whole lot cheaper than John Deere shear pins.
What truly troubles me is I'm staring at an ad for Performance 383 stroker from Tri-Star. Spencer said I shouldn't put that in a 944, and Scott said I should just get a Corvette, so why the ad? I know it's targeted at me, "they" won't let me wear my tinfoil hat at work, it interferes with the paper one.

Baring that, you might consider an '85 S3 with Ken's chip set and Greg's fuel line enhancements, but that of course is another story...
