Default FOR SALE: Throttle Position Sensor (off 87 951) BOSCH 0280120400

Hi all,

For sale is a Throttle Position Sensor manufactured by BOSCH (part number 0280120400) that came off my 87.5 944 Turbo. If you're looking at this ad --- you're likely well aware that these are no longer manufactured and are quite hard to come by. I have this one as I purchased an additional one for my Turbo while troubleshooting a cut-out issue at WOT. Turns out my DME was actually bad. I never got around to installing this original one back on and have the one I purchased off e-bay 2 years ago on my car.

Looking to get $150 shipped.

Thank you,
Paul

I think they're still made - all the usual suppliers have them. They're just crazy expensive ($250 - $300)

+1 they are still made and available from Porsche, I bought one last week from Sunset Porsche. They are not cheap, about $250, but they do come with a two year Porsche warranty fwiw. Without a Porsche box or warranty I found O’Reilly’s are the cheapest for these at $218.

wow. Good info. Did not know that. I just know when I looked for one it was nearly impossible to find.

Best offer on this one. Still a rather valuable piece considering new is over $200

Best,
Paul

This might be the first time ever that a part is cheaper in Canada than over in the land of cheap 'n plenty!!

At CAD, this must be just around $100USD for you guys

Yikes! You are correct; I failed to see the extra note. Fake News!!!

I didn't even know they were different between NA and 951. It appears it's not even available though my regular Canadian online go-to

Geez.. what is so different about them? They sure look similar. But yes, the part number is different. Here's a shot of my sites's close-up:

Three connector pins vs. five connector pins.

The NA TPS isn't a TPS at all in the usual sense. It's just two micro switches in a similar looking black box. One switch is triggered at idle, the other at some higher setting (WOT?).
