Default random FPR ?

this is kinda random, but potentially very good. Is my FPR (i have the black 3bar one) made of aluminum or steel. has anyone tried to weld a hose fitting to it, would that work? I am trying to go all-AN when I redo my fuel lines later this spring. TIA,

Jason

It's certainly steel, but I am not a welder and would have no idea regarding your question. I do know there is a diaphragm inside that is an integral part of the "regulator" process. I can't imagine extreme heat would be very good for it.

The biggest reason for engine fires, so I've read/heard/experienced, is old lines and improper maintenance. My engine fire was a result of an old cracked line (FPD to rail). I've heard of many others due to negligent fuel rail or injector service, or from those who leave the ghetto-tapped fuel pressure gauge on the rail end cap.

FYI, the FPR is on the return side - lower pressure - less worry, but I get your point... since I'm a member of the "ohh-ohh, that smell... can't ya smell that smell" club.

Just don't go using JB Weld and Zip Ties on it, ya hear?

I think it's worth a try, thanks for the info. A few gentle tacks may just do it without distortion. The "smell surrounds me" sometimes...
