Moisture in my tail light

I have condensation in my left rear reverse light. I tried taking the bulb out and soaking up all of the moisture with q-tips in the fruitless hope that this would take care of it. It took approximately 48 hours for it to return.
Has anyone successfully dealt with this problem before? Is it perhaps just a missing rubber seal around the base of the light bulb? I took a close look at the outside of the reversing lense and couldn't find any gaps around the edges.

There are generally 2 ways the 'ole fishbowl in the tailight cells occur. One is you have a crack and leak in the plastic lens face - look between the lens joints.
The other is a bit more devious. Look where the rear hatch catch pins lock into the rear body. There are rubber sealing blocks in the sheet metal as well as a little drip pan with a drain hose that snakes down and empties out the bottom of the side cubby storage holes. If anything here leaks the water drips on top of the lens housings and can find its way inside the lens housing. So replace whatever is leaking.

FYI....I saw a post regarding this a few years ago when I first got my car....the suggestion was to take the smallest drill-bit in your set ( like 1/16 or 1/32 ) and drill a small hole into each cell in the tail light...angled upward and at the bottom of the cell....did this and no more water problems!!!

When I had the same problem it was because the shop that installed the lights didnt use enough strip caulk and left the lights loose. If you take the lights out. You can feed a small cloth into the lense to dry it completly.
To test where the leak is coming from, put yourself or a buddy in the trunk and have one of you spray the lights and around the hatch with a hose.
A hole in the light will fix the problem, but also let dirt in. If the car is sealed right, they really shouldnt leak.

I as well have a "darker" brake light, i've tried lots of stuff but never asked here (doh!). So no I have renewed interest in getting that fixed. The tail lights look old enough as it is, when you got one thats darker it makes it look super old.

Had the same problem in my NSX. Did the drill hole method, where no one can see, and all problems went away. Had to do it on my center piece and my right piece. Just be careful, go slow, and use a very small bit. You also need at least two holes if they are very small, as if there is a lot of condensation, and it starts to run out, it can clog just one hole up, and create the same problem you had before. If the problem is not bad, and the water may evaporate rather than run out, you might be OK with just one. Also, look at the surrounding sheet metal, and try to place the holes where dust will not enter (haven't had the 44 lens off, so don't know what is back there)

Thanks for your comments. I think that IceShark nailed my problem with his second suggestion, as it looks like some moisture has run down the outside of the bulb holder behind the tail light. My problem must be pretty mild, as it's more of a condensation (i.e., droplets on the inside of the lens) than actual fishbowl problem.
When the weather warms up slightly, I'll take care of this and post the final solution.

It could also be the the drain tubes in the lock housings. See if they are still attached and not cracked or clogged.
J,
Bergen Imports is in Cliffside Park, NJ. All I can say is stay away from these guys. They are the worst shop I have ever seen. If you know anyone thinking of using them, please warn them.
As far as the shop in Englewood, are you talking about Autosport?? I had them align my car about a year or so ago. They are very proffessional people.
