ABS Dash Light help?
First let me state that I'm a software engineer and this is a hardware problem
I have an 89 944 with ABS that I race. Last season I replaced my dash with an all digital display. One of the functions that I lost (or more accurately haven't replace) is the ABS sensor light that was in the instrument cluster. Certain conditions, like running over the rumble strips in the bus stop at the Glen, causes the ABS to freak and shut down. This used to not be an issue. The red light would show up on the dash, and I reach down and flip my toggle switch to reset it and I'd be good to go. Without the warning light, now the first indication I've lost my ABS is the tire smoke filling the cabin as I merrily flat-spot my tires.
So where can I pull out the signal that drives the dash light? Any description of that output ? Is it 12V or nothing? Do I need anything like a diode to prevent back voltage? I need a description of the signal so I can program my data channel. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
