looks a little inaccurate. first it's an 86 car so it can't be an S. second, the wheels (early offset) were the giveaway. still, be interesting to see how much it brings.

Thanks for reminding me to watch. I look forward to this program every year. Someday I'll be there purchasing something old and crusty but fast.

Judging by the prices last night - that thing may go for less than $1000!!!!

I was watching and at one point, not one car sold for more than $20,000.

A very nice TR-6 was sold very low.
Some custom truck with at least $25,000 worth of work in it went for like $15,000
A 1963 Split-back Corvette went for a rediculous price, just because it had the smaller engine in it.

I bet that S will go for a price that will be lower than if it was being offered here.

Yeah, someone got an awesome deal on that black truck.
That red 34 Chevy has a very pleased new owner too.
That last 365 too .. I don't know .. I think there were actually a lot of deals out there.
When's the auction start on TV today (Friday), anyone know?

It rained here (Scottsdale) yesterday, which greatly affected the attendance at BJ, since it is held on a low lying polo grounds field. I would expect the bidders, and pricing, to inrease over the weekend.

The cars should increase in expected value as it goes on too. There weren't really any six figure machines there yesterday.

What a pain. If it's not what they claim it is, the thing might not even sell.

It's bad for the rep of our cars to have that happen on international TV. Everyone will be laughing at the water cooler baby Porsche no one wanted. I wonder who the jerk is who's selling it.

I agree, it needs to be a super low miles Turbo S, or a factory 968 Turbo..anything else just doesnt look to good.

What did Alan Decadenet say about the 944? Did he say anything about it being a true classic?

If I ever sell mine it would be fun to watch it being auctioned off on stage. Heck I could even bid on it myself and when people ask me about my car I could say, "Yea I won this little baby at the Barrett Jackson auction."

...who cares what Alan has to say about any of these cars? His knowledge of the subject matter is nonexistant and his irritating voice could only be matched in quality by Jackie Stewart's fingernails-on-the-blackboard screechings. Brock Yates isn't much better, but in a different way. When asked questions about particular cars that he doesn't know the answers to, he merely skips right past and changes the subject. Mike Joy knows his stuff pretty well and is the only redeeming part of this whole thing.

My opinion!

Doug
