Default No Batwing runs HOT!!

I have replace a of of parts just for good maintenance purposes but she still runs hot while on the freeway in 90-100 degree weather with much stop and go traffic. So my last resort is to ask if anyone else runs in that kind of ambient temperature in traffic without a batwing installed. I haven't check the actual temp but just curious of anyone has installed the batwing and noticed lowered water temps in this kind of situation.

Thanks

Mike G.

batwing will make zero 0 no none nada zilch difference while in traffic.

below say 10-20 mph you are entirely at the mercy of your radiator fans.

that said, even while moving, the batwing is sort of part of an aerodynamics package deal (engine undertrays) so function may be varied.

that also said, i haven't had a batwing installed since going to the 951 bumper in 2011 and have not had hot running problems.

Agreed. I did some under body work and left my S2 batwing off and my temps dropped a tiny amount maybe less than 5-8 degrees. Of course, I haven't put it back on yet, so no real science to report yet!

maybe you got too much water in your coolant or your t-stat is on the way out?

I appreciate your thoughts but assume everything is new and everything is perfect except its still overheating. Hahaha . The only items not replaced are rad, temp sensor, temp gauge and of course the all mighty batwing.

I'll check out the fan blades and surround. I think I might actually have to take the radiator out to get a good look at it. I found a radiator shop that cleans the radiators by removing the end tanks then cleaning the passages and reinstalling the end tanks. I might give them a try it's only $65 but as all of you know any work on a 944 requires a lot of hours.

thanks

Are your fans blowing air or pulling air ?
If you played with the wiring , it's easy to get it wrong ... try bypassing your fans directly to 12v and make sure they
run on the fast speed , you don't have to drive the car , just monitor if you see/hear a difference !

Did the Clarks fan check and everything was fine. When driving The HI speed fans do come one not sure of the exact temp mark on the gauge though.

Thanks
