1) Remove the electrical connector.

2) Unscrew the sender from the trans. The aluminum piece that it screws into should stay in the trans.

Yep--just did this recently. The electrical connector might be a little tricky; mine was turned so that one of the clips was.. um... "in behind"

So I went out and tried to pull it off. Basically part of it came off and it was a cylinder shape at the bottom and it was a circuit. I feel like I may have broke it. Il get a photo in the morning and maybe you guys can advise me better

Oh man! I actually knocked my original off like that by accident (working on something nearby). I never could get the two halves back together and working; i tried cleaning the contacts on that circuit board and lining it up, but nothing.

You'll probably have to buy another. I guess you didn't unscrew it fully?

I have a new one ordered because my speedo is playing up. I was just trying to work out how easy it would be to fit the new one. I have these photos i screenshotted from a video. Hopefully you can interprit them. Also how can I get the lower bit out? It seems like its almost part of the box.

Unless yours is somehow a different type than mine, that bottom part comes out; you'll have to snap the top part back on and work on unscrewing it.

Do i need to snap the top part in or could I just turn the lower part that is still attached with pliers? If I do manage to get the top back on where do I turn it to loosen it

You broke it, I don't believe it can be easily repaired but perhaps worth a try. I have a few on the shelf and can sell you a good used one. Or it can also be sourced from recyclers such as 944 Ecology, dcAutomotive, etc.

Snap the top back on and turn with adjustable pliers where arrow shows. Left-y Loose-y

Obviously, the replacement doesn't get torqued too tight; it's plastic
