Default Removing wax from rubber spoiler

I've got a couple of white spots on my rubber spoiler. What is the best way to remove it?

I used some 3m Tire Black... same stuff works great at making the spoiler/bumperets a nice deep black again too. I even managed to clean up the top part of the sunroof seal (that'd been abused with LOTS of wax) with the same stuff.

Hope you find something that works - you might want to hit up www.carcareonline.com (either check their FAQs or give them an email/call) just to see what they recomend.

Best of luck.

I use Mother's "Back to Black." It works pretty well and gives a great looking finish.

I'd hit up Griot's rubber cleaner, (just don't get it on the paint) and then hit up the rubber restore. that'll getcha where ya wanna go.

griots stuff is pretty good .. I like it because they have a catalog with everything and if you need anything it's a phone call .. instead of an always discouraging trip to autozone.
I'd probably use a paint prep solvent for it, because I always have it .. versus something I have to go and buy. Their answers are better though ^^^

Peanut Butter or Peanut oil.

I know you don't believe me but it works and is much cheaper than the stuff up above. You probably already have it. Just wipe it on and wipe it off. I got this tip from one of the auto detailer sites.

I also use Mothers "Back to Black". Great product. Works on all black plastic and rubber pieces.

peanut butter would be good for getting it back to black, not really removing white spots, works well though

LOL crunchy, the peanuts might work as an abrasive to get the wax off since it was said above that "peanut butter would be good for getting it back to black but not really removing white spots
LOL

Smooth and it removes wax residue. Seriously.

Don't believe me? Actually most reports I've found say that Peanut Butter works much better than Back to Black for removing the wax stains. Back to Black hides it but doesn't remove it. Try these links from Autopia:

Just proves you don't have to go and spend 10 bucks on a product when you've got something already that works even better. Don't believe me, your loss.

BTW, Autopia is a good place for any car cleaning questions. There are some pretty **** people over there.

my cousin had a honda prelude with a ton of black rocker panel, it was covered with wax residue, I told him about the peanut butter trick and it was like magic. He had tried all sorts of other cleaners with no success at all, warm peanut butter took it right off.
