Need help with getting cooling fans to work
#16
Agree check if the fan would run with 12v battery first.
Is the hacked wire is just cutting off the connector and spice it with the current fan? or it has another circuit? If its just cut-off connector and still in oem circuit, one way to check is testwith multimeter checking if there is voltage in the current hacked wire. Keep the car running with the ac on should keep the fan on, unless there is a bad ac fan relay. Or mostly when the car run hot and the temp gauge get pass the middle mark.
If it does, I personally will buy the oem fan and hook them up. (I am oem fan and I have some for sale, so I am bias! )
Otherwise like others suggest, Clarks garage has pretty good procedure: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/cool-01.htm
It will come down to fuse, relays, thermo switch, or wires.
