I almost forgot, there is some weird stuff going on with the electronics. When the turn signal is used the fasten seat belts light comes on. Maybe that's just a warning to the passenger that G-Forces are imminent, but it's a bit odd.

There are a few cable harnesses under the hood that don't connect to anything, but maybe they are for accessories that I don't have.

You'll have to get a copy of the WSM for the wiring harness for that car. From what I gleaned from this site and others, the 944's w/o a sunroof are kind of special cars. Not many over here, at least from what I've read...Don't forget to get a readout on the option codes the car might have..Should be near the L rear taillight on a sticker. Maybe others car chime in on the wierdo/ghost gremilns electronics that strike these cars every so often. Hope this helps some..welcome to the 944 crowd!

Thanks, I'll check the sticker when I get the car back.
I know it doesn't have power steering, didn't have A/C from the factory (it was added, but doesn't work anymore), and didn't have a sunroof. I don't know if ABS was an option in 84, but it doesn't have that. Not an airbag in sight.

I just hope they don't find any thing that would make it unsafe to continue to drive. I have a few trips coming up and I'd like to take it out for some highway miles.

Another thing it lacks is the passenger side mirror. I don't want to drill into the door, so it will stay that way.

Mine does that too. Has the entire time I've owned it (since 05). No clue why.
If I don't have the belt fastened, the buzzer goes off too.

Good to know it's not just mine. I'll likely ignore it, chasing 34 year old wiring issues would become a never ending project.

The verdict from Delta V is pretty good.
It passed the annual state inspection, so it's safe and legal to drive.

Maintenance items that they recommend are...
Rear axle seals
Brake fluid flush
Coolant flush

Things to check, but low priority...
There is oil seepage around the pan, but no major leaks. That's just fine.
A/C works, but barely. I already bought a few cans of Red-Tek, but I don't have the right hose to fill it yet.
Headlights pop up slowly sometimes. Hopefully some lube will help this.

So overall I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm going to put a some miles on it this weekend.

Man.. that's some crazy &*^% ... and I thought living with a self-cancel that doesn't work was pushing it!

I would consider all this a "win". All of these are simple DIY items that any older car could benefit from. Great news

Mine does it too. I haven't figured out why either. I pulled off the center console panels to look at the wiring to attempt to see what was wrong but it was a scary rats nest and I decided that I could live with it.
